I'm being bold this year, and maybe brave, and maybe even stupid thinking I can create a basic product, and then retire my husband in 2025. But I'll shoot for the moon, and if nothing else, I'll land amongst the stars by the end of 2024. And if nothing else, no one can say I haven't been determined.
I'll keep track of everything in Notion, and will show screenshots and links as the weeks progress. If I'm deciding on using ads, I'll break down everything for you. And to make it easier for me - and for you to follow along - I'm dividing my year into 4 phases.
Phase 1 begins now(8th January), and runs through March. Which is also Easter. This phase will be about laying the foundation of a solid, basic product/resource that can help people, and which will also want them to have more of my help over the coming months.
I'm signing up for Mailerlite(I currently use ConvertKit for my business), but I want all numbers to be transparent, and also for it to be easy for you and everyone else who chooses to follow along, to understand the numbers being pulled out. I'll also be using Convertbox, which will provide pop-up boxes for those trying to leave the sales page, and ultimately I'm hoping to turn more people into buyers that way.
I bought ConvertBox 4 years ago but only started using it in October 2023.
As for where to host my product, I'm not sure yet. I'm divided between Thrivecart and Teachery. The login feels difficult at times for some customers, but the affiliate part of it is easier with Thrivecart than with Teachery. But by the end of week 1, I'll have made a decision.
So basically, if you decide to follow my project, this is what you'll get access to:
- Each Monday for the whole of 2024 I'm going to create a list of things I need to focus on for the upcoming week. You'll get that list.
- Each Sunday I'll record a video of what I did, what I didn't, what works and what doesn't. You'll get that video.
- I'll also do some random behind-the-scenes videos on the tech, the numbers, and everything else and put them in the course area throughout the year.
This will then, after a full year, be a very in-depth case study on how to build a business and products that can help you retire your partner. Of course, I don't know if I'll succeed or not. That makes it just even more exciting! I could fall flat on my face and stay embarrassed for the rest of my life - but I won't make that happen.
Like I said in my previous email: I'm starting from scratch, where I'll start with a brand new product, no buyers, no leads, and no email list to share it with. I'm not going to share my new product with the list you're on either of course.
I'm just going to use the tools and software I've already bought, or use free ones, along with the courses I've taken, the experience I've gained, and the knowledge I have after 14-ish years running an online business.
