Have You Ever Played The Easy Game Of "Same Color" In A Swarm Of Cars?

Published 5 months ago • 4 min read

Hi Reader,

Once upon a time, there was a little girl. This girl was a daydreamer, one who escaped from bullying and exclusion by her classmates, by creating her own world in her head. She loved to draw but didn't have much paper to draw on. So she used the notebooks that were given by the school, until the school had to save money, and the pupils couldn't get more than a couple of notebooks during the school year.

This little girl was babysitting all around the neighborhood, to earn some money, so that she could buy drawing books - and sanitary pads.

When she wasn't at home, in her bedroom, she spent time with her best friend and stayed at her house. There they both dreamed of getting high-paying jobs, getting married, and having children.

Now, we all know that not all dreams come true. But some do.

And sometimes I think it's the important one that comes true because those are the ones you work the hardest to achieve. After all, they mean the most to you.

The little girl I mentioned above, was me. Yes, I had to buy my own drawing books - and sanitary pads. Me and my brother got a weekly allowance, not much, but a little money we had to work for at home, that we could spend on what we wanted. Or in my case, what I needed. Because we all know that only girls get their periods, boys don't.

I've never gotten a decent answer to my continuous question to my parents on "why", and still to this day, I feel it's unfair. At the same time, I'm so happy to see that more and more countries see this unfair division of gender and costs, and have automates placed around the country and in bars/restaurants where you can get sanitary products for free.

Not in Norway though.

Maybe that's why I love visiting the UK all the time. Because they've come further in accepting females?

Yes, I digressed a bit.

Back to dreaming and pursuing those dreams.

Have you ever played a game of spotting cars with a specific color? Or who can spot the most animals while you're out walking in the forest?

Or if you've ever tried to get pregnant, how many strollers and pregnant women do you see ALL OVER the place? Having severe issues getting pregnant with my two first children, I know this only too well.

This is all proof of the fact that what you focus on, impacts whether or not you'll see it/find it/notice it.

So in reality, thoughts become things.

Let me ask you this: What do YOU focus on?

Are you "all over" the place, not focusing on anything specific, or do you have one goal, and focus all your attention on that?

I'm going ALL IN in 2024, I'm going to focus all my energy on getting a solid foundation in place, so that my husband can retire in 2025. We're both turning 50 in 2024, it's time to retire him from the 9-5 too!

More specifically, this is what I'm going to do:

Starting Monday 8th January, each Monday for the whole of 2024 I'm going to create a list of things I need to focus on for the upcoming week.

Each Sunday I'll record a video of what I did, what I didn't, what works and what doesn't.

I'll also do some random behind-the-scenes videos on the tech, the numbers, and everything else.

This will then, after a full year, be a very in-depth case study on how to build a business that can help you retire your partner.

Of course, I don't know if I'll succeed or not. That makes it just even more exciting!

I could fall flat on my face and stay embarrassed for the rest of my life - but I won't make that happen.

And to hold myself more accountable, I'm offering you a chance to follow along on the journey.

I'm starting from scratch, where I'll start with a brand new product, no buyers, no leads, and no email list to share it with. So no, you won't see me promote the new product to you through these newsletters. I don't want to cheat!

Sounds intriguing? You can start following along for just $1. Read more here www.buildabusiness2024.com

NB: I'm taking the rest of 2023 off, when I start working in 2024, meaning late tomorrow my time, I'm obligated by law to collect taxes on some of my course products, depending on where you live. So the prices will increase late tomorrow.

I can't believe 2023 is almost gone. There are less than 12 hours left for us in Norway when I send out this newsletter.

And after a whole month of reflection on my life, my purpose, and my dreams - all I can see for 2024 is abundance.

I'm grateful for YOU, who make my dreams come true. I'm grateful that you're on my list, and I do hope you'll stay on for years to come.

I wish you and your family all the best for the upcoming year(s)!

Please stay safe and enjoy the crossing over to 2024❤️

All the best,

Cecilie

If it's not obvious, I do share affiliate links from time to time, but only for products and people that I do recommend - meaning I've tried the products, or dealt with the people behind the products on a more 1:1 basis. This does not affect the price you pay, but it affects the possibility for me to continue doing what I love - which is helping others - and pay my bills.

Hi Reader, Yes, if you didn't know, that's my goal for 2024 - to create a product that will retire my husband in 2025. No, this is not an image of my husband... The thing is, to make it "fair", not relying on any previous lists, I'm starting from scratch. And I'll be using social media, ads, blog posts - and hopefully affiliates too - to promote it. And I'm not going to promote it to you - or the rest of you on this email list (unless you for some reason see the mention in an ad or by...

Hi Reader, Yes, I love Notion! And after I rebranded this course, I've been playing with Notion, consuming tutorials, and basically, I've been having fun. Now, I want to share some of the results of that fun with you - and I'm doing so with 2 brand new Weekly Planner templates, fully editable of course - and with a commercial license. The templates look almost the same, but one of them has an inbuilt clock, and the other one has an image. One has a "quote of the day" feature installed, while...

Hi Reader, It's here! Yes, this was printed in July last year. But I never received it. So after a lot of back and forth, and to honor my agreement with the contributors (who would receive a hardcopy of the book for free, if they sent me their address), I decided late December to print it with Blurb. Blurb is expensive. The other company was expensive too for hardcovers, but offered a better deal in total, than Blurb, and that's why I went with them. Not the best decision I've made... I've...
